CONFERENCE "PUBLIC ATTITUDES TO MIGRATION AND APPROACHES TO EUROPEAN TOLERANCE AND NON-DISCRIMINATION"

According to an international study in Bulgaria, non-discrimination towards migrants and the need to increase active citizenship and tolerance in society is a problem. Representatives of the Youth Center – Dobrich participate in a conference on “Public Attitudes towards Migration and Approaches to European Tolerance and Non-Discrimination”, which took place at VUM – Varna. The conference discusses the public perceptions of migrants in Bulgaria and Macedonia. Present are the cultural values ​​and the psychological factors that form the perception of civil society towards other nationalities, as well as the role of young people in building a tolerant and non-discriminatory society. We will understand the role of the institutions in shaping public attitudes towards migrants and what Bulgaria offers as a destination for their residence. The conference is part of the planned events under the project “NEW FORMS OF EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP IN THE ERA OF MIGRATION”, which aims to stimulate in civil society, in interaction with the institutions involved in the integration process, a more active role in promoting the active citizenship of migrants.
